Our current focus communities include Montgomery, Alabama; Chicago, Illinois; Immokalee, Florida; Newark, New Jersey; New Bedford, Massachusetts; North Carolina; and Pima County, Arizona. We capture learnings from across this network to mobilize resources, advance policy change, and lay the groundwork for stronger community health systems nationally.
Position Overview
The Partnerships Manager will play a critical role in the next phase of PIH-US’ growth. In collaboration with the Senior Strategic Partnerships Lead, the Partnerships Manager will execute on PIH-US’ resource mobilization and growth strategy. This person will be responsible for stewarding existing donor relationships through thoughtful reporting and data-driven storytelling and will identify and scale institutional support to meet organizational revenue targets. The Partnerships Manager will also play a critical role in strategy development by contributing to special projects related to the growth and sustainability of PIH-US.
The Partnerships Manager will have strong internal and external relationship management, process development, and organizational skills that will support them in helping to deliver PIH’s development goals.
Responsibilities
- Undertake ongoing, active prospecting on funders, including the development of prospecting materials, and briefing books in support of PIH-US leadership for external engagements with partners.
- Coordinate ongoing stewardship engagements and inbound requests internally with other teams and externally with partners through meetings and correspondences.
- Write and edit requests for funding to institutional partners, such as letters of inquiry, concept papers, pitch decks, proposals, and grant applications, in close collaboration with program staff.
- Maintain and diligently use donor relationship management tools to ensure data quality; work with team to iterate on and drive system efficiencies.
- Work closely with PIH and PIH-US technical site leads and Impact team to develop regionalized partnership strategies, while driving collective accountability and enthusiasm towards revenue goals.
- Work across teams of internal stakeholders (Partnerships, Impact, Finance, and Communications) to ensure delivery of high-quality, accurate, and timely grant proposals/renewals, due diligence, and other donor communication materials.
- Actively engage with external partners on behalf of PIH-US toward the achievement of individual stewardship goals, including developing preparation/run of show for partner meetings, facilitating partner meetings, managing day-to-day engagement with partners, and managing inbound requests from partners.
- Contribute to special projects related to strategy, including but not limited to driving U.S. public health sector and donor landscaping, developing pitch materials, conducting research and data analysis, and building the business case for new areas of program development.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- 5 years of professional experience, ideally in a relationship management role; prior experience in public health, business development, and/or consulting preferred.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills: Ability to develop clear and convincing presentation materials and confidently and persuasively articulate PIH-US’ mission and value proposition to potential donors
- Strong process development, management, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated flexibility and capacity to manage complex projects from start to finish, while maintaining calm and attention to detail
- Comfort working as part of a team and demonstrated capacity for independent project management, including setting interim milestones and timelines, securing input of multiple stakeholders across the organization, and prioritization
- Attention to detail in written deliverables and ability to independently manage processes for ensuring accuracy in written work
- Thoughtful and consistent high quality, timely management of external partner requests
- Experience entering, utilizing, and analyzing data within a customer relationship management environment is desirable.
