We build transformative rights-based approaches to refugee response. These rights-based approaches include policy advocacy, strategic litigation, legal services, and community legal empowerment programs. Position Description:
Asylum Access seeks a motivated Volunteer Community Advocate to assist the Community Outreach team at Asylum Access in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating community empowerment activities approved by the Community Outreach Coordinator based out of Bangkok, Thailand
Duration : 3 Jul 2017 – 22 Dec 2017
Position Responsibilities:
Duties may include but not limited to:
- Support the Community Outreach team in administration duties including booking of venues, preparation of toolkits, workshop materials and transportation expenses for program activities.
- Assist the team in the development of relevant processes related to outreach program activities including AAT’s Interpreter Information sheet.
- Perform monitoring and evaluation (M&E) duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders for the production of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) media.
Qualifications:
Required:
- University degree in Community Development, Social Administration or related fields.
- Demonstrated interest in supporting and understanding of refugee communities in urban areas.
- Interest in international human rights and/or refugee rights and/or related topics
- Ability to work with diverse individuals and groups. Candidate should be culturally sensitive
- Ability to work under stress and with changing priorities official source.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
