Senior Technical Advisor (Humanitarian Mine Action)
Remote (the post holder will be expected to travel to MAG programmes at least 30% of their time)
Starting salary for this position is £83,472 per annum (plus contributory pension)
About the role:
The Senior Technical Advisor (HMA) is a key role with the Programme Quality Team. The STA will lead in fostering strategic leadership, organizational policy development, and external representation to enhance the effectiveness, innovation, and reputation of the organization within the Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) sector.
Responsible for undertaking systematic and accountable monitoring and compliance assessment missions focussing on operational delivery. As tasked and agreed by the Director of Programme Quality, the STA will also design and/or deliver initiatives relating to operational research and development, deliver training and/or undertake mentoring, recommend and develop technical policies and standardised procedures, represent MAG at international fora and provide support to business continuity and development.
The Programme Quality Team consist of highly specialist staff who are all focussed on technical support and innovation across MAG’s expanding programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global organisation at an important time in our history.
About you:
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of working at a senior level, delivering large multi-funded projects with a focus on designing and managing HMA projects. You will be EOD3 or ATO qualified and have field experience in all relevant mainstream operational approaches and methodologies. Communication skills are essential to this role as the post holder will have the ability and experience of building effective working relationships and influence a variety of stakeholders when representing MAG. You will need to have familiarity with IMAS and GICHD HMA publications as well as fluency in written and spoken English with the ability to write HMA publications for development and promotion of MAG technical operations.
