Fiji Program Support Facility
The Facility is providing support to the Fiji Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) to undertake a comprehensive clinical service planning and master planning process for the Colonial War Memorial (CWM) Hospital. CWM Hospital is the largest and oldest hospital in Fiji. With old buildings built to serve historical models of care, it is increasingly recognised as not being fit for purpose and requires a major redevelopment and investment. Infrastructure plays a key enabling role in the provision of high-quality health care.
This will be a multi-year project with the aim of producing a clinical services plan for national referral health services (covering CWM Hospital’s catchment area), an options analysis and preliminary master plan for the redevelopment of CWM Hospital, and a final detailed master plan that can be used to stage the construction of a new and revitalised hospital campus.
Key responsibilities
- Support MHMS with the overall leadership of the clinical service and master planning process for CWM Hospital
- Serve as project lead for the Facility in the development and implementation of a comprehensive master plan for CWM Hospital, ensuring it aligns with national healthcare goals, international best practices and community needs
- Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Support a robust governance process and buy-in from key stakeholders including MHMS, funding bodies, clinical leadership and others with progressive input and acceptance of the development of key deliverables
- Oversee the allocation and management of project resources, including budget and personnel.
- Provide support to the management of CWM Hospital to strengthen corporate and clinical services to prepare for the effective transition to a new hospital
Selection criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Infrastructure Development or related field. Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with extensive experience in healthcare facility planning and redevelopment
- Proven ability to lead large-scale, complex healthcare projects in a multicultural environment
