OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST:
The project officer/assistant for inclusion is responsible for implementing project activities and assist the project staff under the supervision of the Project Manager and to mobilize partners and other project stakeholders along implementation. In particular, the incumbent will support the Service providers of El-Warraq toward inclusion and accessibility and raising awareness in the community. In addition, s/he will assist the PM in carrying out the reporting tasks due for the project.
The incumbent of the post in particular will:
- be the focal point for inclusion for social service providers in Warraq in the implementation of the activities of the project
- Participatory Mangement Mechanism: preparartion of trainings and implementation
- follow up the implementation of the Inclusive Action Plan which includes renovation works and adapted activities.
- support the PM in reporting
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- University degree in social and human sciences, or disability-related discipline.
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in the area of Disability, Livelihood, Recreational activities, Accessibility, Inclusion
- Proven experience in dealing with social service providers.
- Proven experience as social worker.
Skills/Competencies
- Good analytical, organizational and operational skills
- Good understanding of community dynamics in Egypt (Cairo in particular),
- Good coordination and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to set plans and coaching
- Excellent reporting skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and to maintain effective working relations within a multi-cultural environment.
- Solid IT skills including knowledge of office software.
Languages
- Excellent knowledge (written and spoken) of Arabic and a very good knowledge (written and spoken) of English.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the international development cooperation.
- Demonstrated experience in working as social worker, especially with People with Disabilities
Skills/Competencies
- Good knowledge of HI’s work in the field and familiarity with Disability field.
- Familiarity with the work and general functioning of CSOs/DPOs in Egypt
