RESPONSIBILITIES
The IT Director reports to the PFSCM Director and is a member of the senior management team. The IT Director leads the development and implementation of technology strategy and tools to support PFSCM’s mission, operations, and program success. They support and expand the infrastructure across all organizational sites. The IT Director partners with other corporate and project leaders to understand, articulate, and meet PFSCM’s information needs through technology and oversees all IT projects and budgets.
PFSCM shares much of its technology backbone with its parent organization, JSI R&T. The PFSCM IT Director will work in concert with the JSI CIO, and other partner counterparts on corporate IT initiatives to ensure compatibility and synergies.
In partnership with the company’s senior management team, the IT Director identifies opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s services through its IT infrastructure and solutions, including identification of service options, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of technical hurdles to the business’s success.
Specific responsibilities
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends that can improve organization and IT department performance and increase organizational efficiencies.
- Collaborate with the business units to identify evolving client needs that may support or impede the success of the business and its impact on IT and data governance and data use.
- Oversee projects and assignments within the Information Technology department.
- Lead a high-performing IT team that responds effectively to internal and external needs, executes its activities effectively and efficiently, and keeps PFSCM’s IT tools and systems up to date and available to the business.
- Collaborate with members of the senior management team to identify ways IT can assist the company in achieving its business and financial goals.
- Identifies new information system developments and technologies; anticipates resulting organizational modifications.
- Ensure that IT and network infrastructure adequately support the company’s computing, data processing, and communications goals and needs.
- Communicate goals, projects, and timelines of the company to the department; plans ways to execute those goals within the department.
- Establish long-term IT needs and plans and develop strategies for developing systems and acquiring software and hardware necessary to meet those needs.
- Establish and maintain a data governance framework.
- Ensures compliance with government regulations and client requirements that apply to systems operations; directs development and execution of an enterprise-wide information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s and client’s data and servers.
- Support business development, corporate strategy, and innovation activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems or a relevant field is required. Master’s degree or equivalent professional work experience preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT strategy and operations and/or information management.
- Demonstrated understanding of the current technology environment and what an organization should be planning for based on this environment.
- Demonstrated experience in project planning and execution.
- Demonstrated understanding of how IT and technology intersect with and support business operations.
- Willingness and availability to travel

- Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
