You will focus on developing and implementing systems, identifying capacity gaps, designing and delivering training to national staff on all support services, ensuring the programme’s operation is compliant with donor requirements and with MAG’s internal policies and procedures, and providing support to the Senior Management Team in country (SMT) in risk management.
The post holder will also be required to assess capacity within MAG’s partner organisations, identify gaps, make recommendations for improvements, and monitor performance against action plans.
About you:
You will have international senior management experience across support service functions, preferably with a humanitarian agency in a developing country. About the Azerbaijan programme:
In December 2021, MAG established a programme in Azerbaijan funded by the US State Department’s Office for Weapons Removal and Abatement (WRA) and the Canadian government’s Peace and Stabilisation Operations Program. The widespread use of landmines and UXO during conflicts between Azerbaijan and Armenia has created a renewed and urgent need to improve the country’s humanitarian mine action response.
Now funded by the US Dept of State and the EU, the current projects involve MAG working to improve our national partner NGO’s ability to deliver high-quality humanitarian mine action activities to address new and legacy contamination, and in turn make affected regions safer for vulnerable communities and internally displaced people.
This role is expected to last for six-months and will focus on building capacity of MAG staff, with some support to capacity building MAG’s partner support services teams too.
