Position Purpose:
To provide professional quality hair services to guests.

Wage: Starting at $16.48 cad (hourly) with a lot of possibility of growth based on experience, performance reviews and piece work.
Job Terms: 40 hours per week (after 44 hours overtime is paid), Full time, and Shift work.
Description of duties:
- The core responsibility of stylist position is to cut, color, perm, style and shampoo, and perform hair and scalp treatments as well as touch up make up. Also recommend salon products for all guests.
- Also stylists must assist other stylists, apprentices and frontline employees when needed, and must help with general salon up keeping.
- Helping front line to book and answer the phone, helping in inventory and salon up keeping at all times.
- If stylist or apprentice lacks experience and skills in any of the above areas then he, she must accept all necessary education and training with the help of the management to satisfy the requirements of her or his position.
We will provide training in the following:
- Aveda (Brand used by the Salon).
- Stress relieving treatment.
- Touch up make up.
- Guest consultations and preparations.
- Classic Sassoon/AVEDA cutting techniques.
Essential Functions:
- Cut, color, perm, style hair and all relevant as defined by Alberta standard for cosmetologists.
- Help other stylists, apprentices and frontline employees as needed.
- Attend all in salon educational events and staff meetings and always seek to better your skills and education at every available opportunity.
- Keep your station clean on a daily basis. Clean your chair, mirror, and equipment on a daily basis.
- Clean your station or any other station you use after every service you perform.
- Help in salon up keeping – see list attached.
- Perform Diva’s standard for guest preparations and consultations- see form attached.
- Clock in and out for your shifts.
- Pay extreme attention to every new guest you do so you can keep salon retention high.
- Update guest information.
- Retail products to every guest you service.
- Arrive 10 min minimum before your shift with professional attire and with your hair and face done.
- Fill your downtime by helping others.
- Participate in charity and social and beauty events the salon organizes.
- Cross-promote hair services or esthetic services.
- Pre-book guests for next appointments, with yourself or others, to accommodate guest schedules.
- Seek actively to schedule your guests to visit the salon in a non-prime time. (Prime time is 12 noon to 7pm).

PERFORMANCE REVIEW.
Performance reviews are done every 6 months. The most important is the first one that sets your goals for the rest of the year. Reviews are based on the following 3 categories:
- Salon culture includes nine factors and is measured on a scale of excellent to deficient. It is designed to measure your ability to work with the management and other team members and guests and your commitments and attendance.
- A minimum of 5 educational events a year is recommended to keep up with salon standards and the pace of the beauty industry.
- Most important are your new guest retention, pre-booking, and your retail per guest ticket.
