The Director of Operations is among the key leadership positions, critical to developing and delivering the organisation’s approach to engaging with the UK Government, the humanitarian and nutrition sector, and the global Action Against Hunger network on the key areas of programme funding, advocacy, and programme quality and delivery.
The role leads on the effective positioning of the organisation respected in the UK as the NGO of choice for the prevention and treatment of hunger and undernutrition worldwide, engaging with stakeholders on humanitarian/development policy and practice, and maintaining a programming model that leverages its competitive advantages and ensures its relevance for the future in an evolving humanitarian and development landscape.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective oversight and management of the UK Operations Department, setting the strategic vision, culture and business model for a number of teams covering institutional donor funding, advocacy and campaigns, technical and research capacities with a particular focus on MEAL and Nutrition, and legal/risk/compliance. The Department has grown significantly over the last 5 years and has significant ambition for future growth and development in increasing the contribution the UK organisation makes to the humanitarian and nutrition sectors.
