The Data Associate will conduct meticulous reviews of data files, comparing them with MCC’s original monitoring and evaluation plans for past projects and identifying any discrepancies. The Associate will document any discrepancies in a memo and work with MCC to resolve any contradictions in the data. There will be several rounds of review required before the data files can be finalized and uploaded to MCC’s online database. The position will require 15-20 hours per week and will last a minimum of six months with possible extension to 12 months, until all the historic data files have been successfully uploaded. This position is eligible to be fully remote.
Responsibilities:
- Review detailed written instructions from MCC on how to complete reviews of data.
- Compare indicator names and data in data files with indicator names and data in original monitoring and evaluation plans.
- Prepare discrepancy memos documenting any mismatches in indicator names or data and work with MCC to resolve the discrepancies.
- Review cleaned datasets to ensure they meet standards, then upload to MCC’s online system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in development, evaluation, development analytics, economics, knowledge management, or a related field preferred.
- Academic work in a field related to data collection/cleaning analysis preferred.
- Minimum two years of work experience required, preferably involved in working with data in some form.
- Strong attention to detail, teamwork, interpersonal, data and written communication skills required.
- Ability to commit to the project for at least six months required.
- Fluency in English required.
