Coordinator, Foundation Partnerships
UNICEF USA is seeking a Coordinator to support its portfolio of partners and grants within the Foundation Partnerships team.
Foundation Partnerships works with leading U. S. private foundations and institutions in support of various cross-cutting areas of UNICEF’s work, including Child Health, Polio Eradication, Institutional Strengthening, Water/Sanitation & Hygiene, Education, Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change, Child Protection & Social Inclusion, Advocacy (Domestic & Global), Public-Private Partnerships and other Special Initiatives based on UNICEF’s and UNICEF USA’s common mission of saving and improving the lives of children worldwide.
Reporting to the Vice President, the Coordinator will contribute to the UNICEF USA mission and fulfillment of the Foundation Partnerships team and department goals by assisting in all matters of team operations, including, but not limited to:
- Coordinating logistics for partner meetings, events and functions
- Assisting with relationship management activities, correspondence and creation of proposals and reports
- Tracking team goals, workflows and key performance indicators
- Performing market and sector research and data gathering for analysis
- Serving as liaison with partners and other UNICEF USA departments; performing support and office administration tasks
- Assisting with special projects as needed
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
Grants Management
- Facilitate the tracking of UNICEF and partner reports and deliverables in collaboration with grant managers
- Manage workflows and tracking processes for all grant/sub-grant agreements, invoice/DSA/reimbursements, Board approvals, payment requests, and grant/project/budget revisions
- Lead weekly Grant Open Hours meetings with UNICEF USA’s Foundation Partnerships and Finance depts., collating inputs from both teams and troubleshooting transfer issues
- Support Foundation Partnerships Officers to draft grant extensions, sub-contracts, and sub-grants
New Business
- Assist the team’s grant managers with funding proposals, including copy editing of narrative, cross-checking key information between budgets and the narrative, scheduling calls with UNICEF country offices
- Conduct research and data analysis for team’s strategic engagement plans with partners and UNICEF
- Perform thematic research on specific UNICEF programmatic areas in support of funding landscape analyses
- Manage planning and logistics for all Foundation Partnerships partner engagement events and convenings, including representing the team in the UNICEF USA Annual Meeting planning process
Team Operations
- Track team goals, workflows and key performance indicators, reporting regularly to the Vice President, Managing Director and Directors
- Steward, update and disseminate team pipeline of pending leads, qualified projects/initiatives, and proposals
- Arrange logistics and tech for team and partner meetings (webinars, LYNC, Skype, weekly meetings, conference calls)
- Manage and maintain the team calendar
- Attend and report out on key internal/external meetings and information-sharing sessions on behalf of the team
- Update the departmental user manual
- Support the Officers and relevant UNICEF USA departments with the further development of Grants Management/CRM systems, other operational improvement processes as needed
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve team efficiency, systems, and processes
- Provide overall office administrative support
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years’ work experience required, with a focus on market research and/or partner engagement strongly preferred
- Familiarity with/interest in current global health and development issues, UN agencies strongly preferred
- Ability to contribute to proposals, reports, research and presentations that are client-ready and reflect analytical thinking, creativity and a clear understanding of both the prospective partner’s requirements and UNICEF USA’s programs and assets
- Proven ability to prioritize; work independently; handle multiple, complex tasks simultaneously; and to generate pragmatic solutions to real or potential problems and recognize and leverage key opportunities
- Ability to navigate complex environments, and help build relationships with a variety of stakeholders and institutions strongly preferred
- Strong “client service” orientation and interpersonal as well as research, quantitative, and written/verbal communication skills
- Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel as well as Word and Powerpoint; experience with databases, CRM and SharePoint
