We are looking for a resourceful, clever, problem-solving communicators to support JSI’s mission of improving health, education, and social equality both internationally and in the United States. Requests and tight deadlines come fast, so we need people who can stay calm, communicate deadlines, be responsive, and track everything through to completion.
The Communications Coordinator needs to be an energetic, go-getter with strong coordination and organizational skills. You will work across divisions and be exposed to a broad range of public health, global development and education work while strategically supporting JSI online engagement and strategic marketing.

To contribute to this mission, JSI is seeking an experienced Communications Writer with our Communications Division.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to overall message development, and pitch content internally. Use project management techniques to meet deadlines, set expectations, and track results.
- Participate in the development and management of JSI corporate marketing materials.
- Explore creative ways to present JSI accomplishments.
- Write stories and other content information.
- Develop materials for the JSI websites.
- Develop content for corporate e-newsletters.
- Assist with social media research, analytics, & activities.
- Collect data from field projects to keep the database updated.
- Contribute to regular editorial plans.
- Participate in conference organization and materials development.
- Analyze metrics and adjust plans accordingly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Infographic Development experience.
- WordPress experience.
- Ability to develop write web content.
- Ability to edit videos and/or podcasts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of work, volunteer, and/or internship experience in communications, marketing, media or related field.
- Advanced writing and editing skills.
- Demonstrated professional experience developing social media content.
- Strong organizational skills; precision is essential.
- Ability to work individually as well as successfully work as part of a team.
- Strong time management/task prioritization skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with a good sense of humor, professional behavior, and friendly attitude; and highly responsive to requests.
- Willingness to teach yourself new skills.
- Self-motivated, flexible, accountable, and able to take ownership of projects.
- Willingness and ability to travel, when requested (5% or less).
Salary Range: $53,000-$60,000
