MSI is seeking a Chief of Party (COP) to serve as the senior-most in-country project representative and lead the technical and operational aspects of the activity. The ideal candidate will provide expertise to ensure effective implementation of all project activities. This will be a full-time position based in Beirut, Lebanon. This position is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities:
- Provides overall management of MSI’s in-country relationship with USAID/Lebanon, including ensuring successful coordination with the COR, as well as other USAID/Lebanon partners, contractors, and their staff.
- Represent MSI and the program in meetings with senior Mission and Embassy officials.
- Responsible for making key decisions and solving problems in short time frames while ensuring operational and program integrity.
- In close consultation with the COR, provides oversight of grant activities, including supervision of the program staff.
- Responsible for leading activity development and implementation, as well as management, oversight, and reporting of progress and quality of performance while meeting the program activity undertakings.
- Supervise field technical and administrative staff, as well as partner organizations.
- Lead coordination and communication with key stakeholders, stakeholders, partners, donors, and other government agencies, as well as among various partners, sub-awardees, and grantees.
- Coordinate with Headquarters support staff to ensure compliance with corporate policies, fiscal management practices and reporting requirements.
- Financial and program management oversight.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in international development, peace building, conflict resolution or other relevant field preferred.
- Minimum ten (10) years of professional experience in managing peacebuilding and social cohesion related donor funded programs required.
- Minimum five years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of related technical areas such as peacebuilding, conflict prevention, social cohesion, service delivery, workforce development and/or wastewater management, in conflict and post-conflict environments.
- Demonstrated capability to develop strong working relationships with a broad range of high-level host country governments, and international agencies.
- Prior experience supervising large teams on donor-funded projects, preferably funded by USAID.
- Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with national and local government counterparts and civil society organizations.
- Financial management experience required, including budgeting; financial management (tracking, reporting, and accounting); and procurement.
- Prior experience in the Middle East; Lebanon experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, supervision, and written/oral communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English required; Arabic and French preferred.
