This is a great position for an early career professional who will join our team in Rockville, MD or REMOTE.
ICF is seeking a Survey Project Specialist to work in its Survey Research Science and Operations practice. If successful, you will support a large, annual survey that tracks financial resources devoted to research at U.S. universities and colleges and a variety of projects across a wide array of topics and clients at the state and federal level, including energy (various utilities), transportation (DOT), health (CDC, NIH), environment (EPA, NOAA), the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB).
You will be expected to provide support in the following areas:
Project Management- You will manage large and complex tasks of one or more concurrent survey-related projects.
Technical Expertise– you will provide technical assistance to internal and external clients in association with the projects you manage as well as complete technical reports and other deliverables as required.
What you’ll do:

Manage tasks on one or more concurrent survey-related projects, interacting with clients, providing excellent service, managing expectations, and producing products that demonstrate results.

Prepare project plans, manage project budgets, schedules, and team performance using effective project management processes and frameworks.

Identify and coordinate with outside subcontractors, vendors, and internal collaborators.
-
Proactively manage and communicate with a team of cross-matrixed professionals, ensuring smooth team operations and effective collaboration.

Contribute methodological or technical guidance in support of survey design and data collection activities, content and technical support to survey respondents, training support staff, identifying improvements to survey processes and procedures.

Examine submitted surveys and follow up with survey respondents to clarify data, and train others to do the same.

Contribute methodological or technical guidance in support of qualitative projects or task involving cognitive interviewing, one-on-one interviews, and/or focus groups.

Create requirements for data validations for programmers to include on the web survey.

Develop project quality assurance protocols, and ensure quality for all data, reports, and presentations.

Communicate effectively in writing—analytic reports, technical summaries, methodology reports, and formal and informal email correspondence.

Continuously assess and make recommendations to address any barriers or obstacles to achieving project goals.

Update leadership on progress as directed and on regular reporting cycles.
What you have to have:
-
Bachelor’s degree, in survey research field or quantitative discipline such as business administration, accounting, finance, data analytics, data science, or related field/discipline.

2+ years of applied experience in project management, including coordinating teams and tasks, tracking completion of activities, managing schedules, monitoring project budget, and ensuring the quality of work products.

2+ years of experience with MS Office products—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or professional skills
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree a plus.

Proven experience training or mentoring others on complex topics.

Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

Proficiency in Spanish a plus.
