FUNCTION: Responsible for implementing research studies and providing study coordination for research associated with the National Institute of Environmental Health Science (NIEHS) Clinical Research Program. The Study Coordinator will be part of a team that consists of research nurses, study coordinators, a participant coordinator, a respiratory therapist, and operations manager. The position is based onsite at the NIEHS CRU in Research Triangle Park, NC and is part of a SSS team that staffs and manages the NIEHS Clinical Research Unit.
The clinical research studies at the NIEHS can be quite diverse. Studies may include translating basic laboratory findings to humans, studying the interactions between genetic susceptibility and environmental factors in the pathogenesis of disease and identifying populations at risk to develop novel preventative and therapeutic strategies to combat human diseases, as well as investigator-initiated IND studies.
