NRC in Jordan
Established in 2012 NRC Jordan’s long-term outlook addresses the problems affecting life as a refugee. We work to build the resilience of Syrians, and to relieve the impact on the Jordanian communities that host them. Syrian refugees in Jordan are struggling. As they contend with difficult living conditions across the country, the obstacles are complex. They struggle to remain registered as refugees, to provide for their families, and to access essential services – including education for their children. The Jordanian communities that host them, meanwhile, feel the impact of hosting high numbers of refugees – with each year that passes, local infrastructure becomes more strained.
The main objectives for the consultancy include:
Preparing, facilitating and reporting on JIF annual strategic retreat. The Jordan INGO Forum (JIF) is a network of 61 international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) implementing development and humanitarian programs to respond to the needs of vulnerable Jordanians, Syrian, Palestinian and Iraqi refugees
- Plan JIF’s strategic retreat
- Review JIF strategic documents, publications, survey
- Meet selected JIF members
- Facilitate a one-day retreat
- Produce initial draft of JIF’s 2019 strategy and retreat summary
University degree (PhD or Masters) in organisational development, strategic planning, or other related fields combined with specialized experience in the similar fields;
At least 6 years of relevant experience
Familiar with participatory approaches and facilitating strategic planning processes;
Experience of working with humanitarian organisations;
Experience of working in Jordan a plus
Expressions of interest should be submitted by 25 October 2018.
The consultancy should be conducted and finalized over a maximum period of 6 days.
Applications should include the following:
Sample of previous strategic planning workshops conducted
Proposed budget, detailing consultancy fees, international travel, and insurance costs
Confirmation on whether the consultant has his/her own insurance policy covering evacuations
