Procurement Administrator
The successful candidate can work from home, however, will be required to attend MAG’s office in Manchester on a regular basis (at their own expense)
Salary will be £19,308 (plus contributory pension)
About the role:
The Procurement Administrator will be integrated into the MAG Global Procurement team; the team provides procurement services to both MAG overseas programmes and Manchester office. The team has been growing its structure due to increased volumes of orders and as part of a reinforcement of MAG global Procurement capacity; the Procurement Administrator will provide support to existing team members in carrying out complex duties and progressively take the lead on the processing of international orders with MAG International Suppliers to support overseas operations.
This entry-level position offers a range of development opportunities to the post-holder, including the possibility to travel to MAG overseas Programmes to gain field experience and/or the possibility to get progressively more involved in sourcing activities and develop professionally towards a Procurement Buyer capacity.
About you:
You shall be an aspiring humanitarian with experience in dealing with overseas stakeholders in any capacity. An understanding of multi-cultural sensitivities, and the necessity to adapt one’s approach depending on the stakeholder you are facing is an essential skill. As an entry level position, procurement and freight forwarding experience is highly desirable, but for the right candidate on-the-job training will be provided. It is essential that you should be able to demonstrate previous experience in a professional sphere, office-based work and stakeholder management both senior and junior as this forms the basis of the job. A willingness to learn, flexibility, and pro-activity are essential to this job. We are looking for a candidate that wants to develop themselves into a professional humanitarian and can demonstrate their alignment with the principles of humanitarianism and international humanitarian law.
Ideally you shall have a general understanding of Procurement function, and previous experience in dealing with international freight forwarding. This position can be a good entry point for developing towards a humanitarian procurement and logistics career, exposing the post-holder to interactions with multiple countries, senior humanitarian professionals and offering possibility to progressively get some assignments overseas to build field experience.
The procurement and logistics team is diverse and multi-cultural; talent is recognized and pro-activeness is strongly valued among its members: there is a significant investment in supporting career development and acquisition of professional skills and experience across all levels of seniority within the team, and the post-holder can massively benefit from daily interaction with experienced – but very accessible – team members.
