Market Specialist, Asia (Singapore, Malaysia or Philippines)
The USAID Agriculture and Food Systems Development Activity (AFDA) in Myanmar facilitates the transformation of agriculture and food systems by increasing productivity, inclusiveness, and competitiveness of the agricultural market system in the zone of influence (ZOI) such as Kachin State, Shan State, Mandalay Region, Sagaing Region and Magway Region. The Market Specialist will 1) identify opportunities in the Asia markets (eg. Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Sri Lanka) where Myanmar, and AFDA ZOI producers and related firms can competitively expand, upgrade and diversify; and 2) provide information on competition and requirements such as product specifications, terms (buyers’ requirement) and other relevant steps needed by suppliers to enter and/or expand in these markets and significantly increase exports of Myanmar agricultural products to Asia markets. The anticipated timeframe for this assignment is between June 2020 to December 2020 with up to 60 days of effort.
