We are currently looking for a Legal Counsel to join our in-house Legal team on a contract, maternity-cover basis. This role is based in our central London office, near Trafalgar Square.
In this role, reporting to the General Counsel, you will be responsible for providing first class legal service and high quality, senior advice on legal issues across Save the Children International and the wider Save the Children organisation. This is a complex role working across a variety of functions within Save the Children and will be a great opportunity for anyone who is already in the sector or are looking to transfer from either in-house or private practice.
To be successful in this role, you will essentially be lawyer or barrister qualified in England and Wales or a common law jurisdiction with 6 years+ PQE experience. You will bring extensive experience of one or more of commercial / contract law, finance law, and/or charity/not-for-profit law, and of operating in a range of jurisdictions. Your exceptional legal skills, balanced with your interpersonal skills, will give you the ability to communicate with people at all levels and across different cultures and to act with credibility and diplomacy. We are also looking for someone who is a constructive and a team player, with a full appreciation of the value of collaboration.
On a personal level you will be culturally aware and have a strong interest in the sector, as well as being available to commence work in January.
The salary offered is in line with the sector benchmark, and includes a company pension scheme and 30 days annual leave, pro-rata.
