FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY: May manage general and administrative (G&A) budgetsand associated activities. Manage direct project budgets for technical leadership projects and anticorruption portfolio.
RELATIONSHIPS: Maintain collaborative working relationship with team members and staff within IFES. Effectively foster partnerships internally and externally to build and achieve organization’s goals. Proactively engage and collaborate with other team members on the implementation of programs, new business development, external outreach, and the development of thought leadership. Represent IFES with external contacts as needed.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: May oversee staff working on legal, EDR, and anticorruption programming, and interns or fellows, as needed.
EXPERIENCE: At least 8 years’ relevant experience in international development or related field. At least 5 years of progressive professional experience in the work of legal reform and justice. Experience managing projects, budgets, and people. Experience with business development and with a variety of donors. Experience working in conflict, post-conflict, and/or closed environments a plus.
RELATED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: The successful candidate will be a passionate, driven, and talented multi-tasker who relishes working with a variety of stakeholders to achieve common objectives. Competitive candidates will have demonstrated experience in legal and anticorruption programming, in particular in the democracy and governance sphere. Experience in applied research and analysis. Candidates should demonstrate strong applied research and analysis skills and have experience with a range of stakeholders. Knowledge and experience with USAID grant and non-US grants and contract proposals, regulations, and procedures is a plus. Experience mentoring and managing teams is also a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: English required. Proficiency in French, Spanish, or Arabic language is a plus.
TRAVEL: Travel is required up to 30 percent of time (currently subject to COVID-19 restrictions).
