Position Summary
This position is responsible for the maintenance of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and other systems of use in the human resources department, serving as the technical professional for the department and ensuring data integrity and reliability along with required system updates/changes, report writing and process improvements. The incumbent leads the implementation of new systems/modules as needed.
Essential Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Maintain and update employee data and ensure integrity and accuracy within all systems.
- Manage all system upgrades, enhancements, patches, and implementation of new systems/modules to maximize efficiency/effectiveness of HRIS.
- Partner and/or liaise with stakeholders (e.g. benefits, finance, payroll) related to audits, reporting, projects, and other inter- and/or cross-departmental initiatives.
- Collaborate with and support the implementation and administration of various Human Resources initiatives by managing or assisting with designated projects, processes, and programs and ensuring appropriate inclusion and partnership with relevant departments, projects teams, etc. when cross-functional integration is required.
- Serve as the point of contact for all human resources systems, assisting in resetting user names and passwords; maintaining security rights; and training/assisting users on system processes, functionality, and the resolution of issues. Develop HRIS-related training materials, guides and other required documentation. Ensure system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to all human resources systems and assist with or lead the development of related communications and trainings for employees to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Write, maintain and support a variety of reports/queries using appropriate system resources/tools, including standard reports for Human Resources functional areas and required monthly/quarterly headcount/metrics data reports for management. Review and analyze resultant data to ensure its relevance/accuracy, and as required present findings/recommendations through written communications, presentations or other appropriate formats. Assist with the data entry of other critical HRIS data, such as confidential salary data, applicant information, benefits data, management changes, training, certifications and performance reviews.
- Assist in the administration of Human Resources policies, processes, and practices, including those related to wage and salary, performance management, training, employment, and benefits.
- Maintain awareness of current trends in HRIS and regularly assess system effectiveness/efficiencies, recommending new and innovative technology and finding ways to increase both Human Resources knowledge and HRIS applications to fully utilize the system and maximize full usage of technology to better automate Human Resources processes and procedures.

- Maintain a focus on professional development and enhancing knowledge of and competency in Human Resources trends and issues, particularly those related to developments in HRIS.
- Perform other duties as required.
Parameters
- Incumbent works independently under general direction in accordance with established position expectations/goals, policies, practices and procedures.
- Incumbent regularly interacts with staff at all levels within NDI. Some interaction with external vendors and providers is required to support HRIS activities.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, or related field or equivalent work experience required.
Experience
- Five years of experience in HRIS administration.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Advanced knowledge of HRIS systems implementation and administration with technical understanding of system modules/capabilities, including setup, design, and usage (e.g., recruitment, benefits administration, performance management); experience with UKG (UltiPro) highly desired.
- Familiarity with federal and state employment laws with the ability to apply that knowledge to day-to-day situations and issues desirable.
- Knowledge of compensation practices and understanding of wage and hour laws preferred.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization, demonstrating diplomacy, tact, responsiveness, and professionalism.

- Advanced MSOffice skills particularly Excel; familiarity or experience with Google Suite is a plus.
- Excellent project management skills for planning and executing multiple projects and priorities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines with an appropriate sense of urgency.
- Ability to handle information of a confidential nature and ensure that such information is secured and maintained in an appropriate manner.
Certifications/Licenses (desired)
- Professional/Senior Professional in Human Resources certification a plus.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a standard office environment and is eligible for telecommuting.
