We are looking for a talented and experienced leader and team player to fill a highly visible role managing our strategic technology alliances and partnerships in support of our #DigitalFoundation strategy. As a candidate for this role, you will have a proven track record of business development and leading and building partnerships with global technology companies, including software and hardware companies, system integrators, device manufacturers and emerging technology companies. Using your influencing and relationship-building skills, you provide high-caliber partner service, research and market analysis. You will be responsible for building an overall strategy and plan which includes setting global priorities, a measurement structure, an action plan and then subsequently executing against that plan. Key areas of responsibility include Business Development, Alliance Strategy & Planning, Industry & Partner Targeting, Program Management / Delivery, Executive Alignment, Stakeholder Management and Partner Marketing. Responsibilities:• Build and foster relationships with alliance partner management and industry and emerging technology leaders to ensure successful activation of the Digital Foundation strategy.• Own internal operational processes to ensure a successful alliance partner business including managing metrics/reporting, communicating partner wins/solutions, sharing best practices, and maintaining content repositories.• Define metrics to ensure quality contributions to the Digital Foundation strategy and support staff in achieving those metrics and goals.• Drive operational activation processes to enable alliance partner success.• Work collaboratively across foundation teams to deliver long-term value by advocating alliance partner needs and delivering outcomes that meet these needs.
– BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.• Demonstrated passion for technology, keeping up with both mainstream and emerging technology • Experience at both large and small organizations. • Excellent at establishing and managing relationships; this applies to both company internal as well as external relationships.• Understanding and some experience with Enterprise and Solution Architecture • Deep knowledge of cloud and mobile, both from a technology perspective as well as market awareness • Deep knowledge around data management tools and analytical tools• Experience in operational programs or process for external partners• 5 years of experience managing operational programs.• 10 years of experience in the software or IT industry.• Experience managing relationships with global system integrators, consulting companies, established technology industry leaders and emerging technology innovators with a proven track record of enabling strategic, long-lasting, trusted partner relationships.• Experience in managing complex, ambiguous, multi-stakeholder projects.• Expert on how social, mobile, analytics and cloud technologies can shape an organization’s ability to innovate and deliver stakeholder value• Understanding of how systems integrators and global technology players work• An established network of contacts• A bias for actionAs part of our standard hiring process for new employees, employment with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will be contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
