PSI is currently recruiting for a Director of Global Supply Chain for the upcoming USAID-funded Procurement Services Agent contract for Malaria under USAID’s Next Generation Global Health Supply Chain suite of programs. The estimated total value of this PSA contract is anticipated to be $3.1 billion.

Your contribution 

The Global Supply Chain Director reports to the Project Director and provides leadership on all aspects the project’s procurement and supply chain operations to include planning, sourcing, procurement, logistics, and quality assurance. The GSC Director is responsible for building and leading a global team that meets all performance objectives set by USAID to include high on-time in-full deliveries, fast cycle times, and low costs while maintaining commodity quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setting and implementing strategies to improve all aspects of the program continuously throughout the life of the contract
• Supervising senior procurement and operations staff in headquarters and remote offices
• Coordination to ensure efficiencies and synergies between all Next Generation GHSC projects and other global procurement mechanisms
• Ensure procurement activities comply with USAID and PSI rules and regulations
• Develop and use process metrics to improve efficiency, cost effectiveness and sustainability and continuous quality improvement

The basics

• At least 12 to 15 years of experience in global supply chain management, preferably in the public health domain
• At least five years of experience with international development; experience in donor-funded supply chains operations highly desired including Malaria health commodities
• Experience interacting with senior U.S. and foreign government officials
• Demonstrated experience building and leading large teams (20+) in procurement and supply chain management
• A graduate degree in supply chain, contracting, finance, business or management is preferred or the possession of a bachelor’s degree in the same field and an additional five years of work experience beyond the ten required above may be substituted for a graduate degree.
• APICS CSCP certification or full CIPS membership a plus
• Fluency and ability to communicate in English required. Fluency in a second language (French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic) highly desired.
• Ability and willingness to travel (up to 25%) to and work in low-resource environments required.
• References will be required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States. PSI will not consider work visa sponsorship for this position
• The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.
