Under supervision of the Global Benefits Manager, the Global Benefits Analyst supports the delivery and administration of the foundation’s benefits program ensuring compliance with local, federal and global regulations. The role maintains and provides benefit data.This role consults with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), recruiters, managers and employees on Global Benefit Programs (insurances, health and wellness, absence management, retirement, etc). Emphasis on US domestic and expatriate plans.In addition, it recommends improvements to benefit design, service and delivery associated with benefit administration. This position administers employee healthcare and retirement plans for all employees (US and Regional offices) ensuring compliance with federal, state and country laws. Global Benefits:• Consult with Global Benefits Manager on new benefit policy and program solutions.• Maintain process systems for benefits related data.• Primary liaison to IT HRIS partners regarding annual updates and program design modifications.• Ownership of day-to-day benefit program administration, monitoring benefit system integrations to benefit vendors. • Partner with the HRIS support team to resolve data issues and correct integration issues.• Key player in the annual enrollment process and plan compliance audit filing, collaborating with the Finance function and external vendors and brokers.• Day to day administration of the foundation’s healthcare and retirement plans – both domestically and internationally.• Serve as a consultant to HRBPs, recruiters and foundation management by providing guidance, education and coaching on processes, guidelines and regulatory issues and compliance related to the benefits process ensuring alignment of policies and practices• Collaborate with Benefits, Global Mobility managers and business partners to prepare assignment cost estimates and consult regarding full lifecycle of mobility assignments. Provide guidance on the interpretation of benefit guidelines to ensure compliance. • Ensure online documentation is current.• Day to day relationship management with brokers, carriers and vendors, including SLA monitoring and rectification, as necessary.• Provide guidance and training to Human Resources Global Operations (HRGO) ensuring knowledge transfer and support of the HRGO model.• Provide analysis and reporting support with the delivery of global programs.• Participate in projects to their successful completion and lead supporting projects as needed.• Analyzes, audits and maintains quality control for global benefit plans to ensure program integrity and data accuracy.• Serve as employee contact for the resolution of escalated benefit questions and issues, such as health & welfare, wellness, retirement plans, and foundation policies.• Consults on Leave of Absence requests.
– Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Masters desirable.• Certifications: SPHR, GPHR, PHR, CEBS or CBP designation preferred.• Experience: 7 or more years US benefits administration experience required, global experience highly desirable.• Prior ACA compliance preferred.• Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills with ability to develop and gain support for ideas.• Strong consulting and customer service skills• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Self-motivated and proactive.• Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint). Advanced Excel abilities including vLookups and pivot tables.• Strong HCMS/HRIS experience.• Must be able to follow regulations and policies established by the foundation. • Substantial knowledge of benefit plan administration, including plan cost drivers and plan design.• Working knowledge of DOL, DOS & USCIS regulations.• Working knowledge of HIPPA, ACA, and ERISA regulations.• Ability to maintain high-level of confidentiality.• Willingness to take initiative and ownership of projects in a fast paced environmentAs part of our standard hiring process for new employees, employment with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will be contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
