Summary: The Associate Director will be responsible for the daily tasks associated with managing and coordinating all aspects of Youth and Residential Services’ facilities and drop-in center, with primary responsibilities in the areas of safety, emergency preparedness, and risk management. Individual accountabilities and work volume will be established through the development of annual Success Objectives, within the framework outlined below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Supervise program managers and supervisors.
· Implement and ensure all licensing and agency standards are being met.
· Collect all pertinent data and provide written reports as requested.
· Provide direct support to all Directors of Youth and Residential Services.
· Participate in on-going staff trainings as requested.
· Create and update as needed policies on safety and risk management, such as fire drills, evaluation procedures, etc.
· Insure that all mechanical safety systems are functioning and up to date, including electronic surveillance, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, smoke detectors, etc.
· Maintain all appropriate documentation, including state fire marshal reports, annual sprinkler test reports, etc.
· Immediately address any potential risk or hazardous conditions.
· On call duties will include carrying an Agency cell phone and responding to crisis situations 24 hours a day.
· React to change productively and perform other duties that may be assigned.
Manages subordinate supervisors of all YRS programs, and provide support to those supervisors in managing their direct care staff. The Associate Director is part of a management team that is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all YRS programs. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems for both employees and program participants.

- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree, three years’ experience in staff supervision, and four years’ experience working with youth, with two of those years being with youth in a residential or inpatient setting.
- Language Skills: Fluency in a second language may be required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
