The transitional assistance project aims to improve the social and economic capacities of the communities, households and individuals in the target region. It does so by operating in two fields of action: (1) income generation (promoting agriculture, agricultural processing, marketing, etc.) and (2) local peacebuilding (dialogues, gender empowerment, strengthening local conflict-management structures). It forms part of a development-cooperation programme consisting of several technical and financial cooperation modules, which promotes peacebuilding in eastern Congo.
